Door Protection
Simply put. Thieves kick in doors because it is easy. In about 10 seconds a thief can kick in your door and be in your home. Your deadbolt secures into a piece of soft wood that is about 1/2-inch thick. Until you reinforce this area you might as well leave your door open.
You should beware that all door reinforcement is not created equal. Many will tell you that you only need to reinforce the lock side of the jamb to secure your door. However, we found out the hard way that, if you do not secure all of the weak points on your door, they can still be kicked in.
Don't purchase a $10.00 lock and expect it to protect your home. Unfortunately, when it comes to locks, you get what you pay for. Once you properly reinforce your door jamb, you should consider upgrading your locks. We broke a lot of locks while testing our solutions so we know that there is a lot of difference between the locks on the market.
